Tollesby is a school that caters for pupils statemented MLD or BESD. Our aim is to ensure that all pupils and staff thrive, reach their full potential and enjoy their time with us.
We believe that praise, encouragement and rewards are important in creating a positive learning environment and for fostering good, effective working relationships.
This is a very exciting time in the development of Tollesby as we are planning our new school, which we will be moving into in Easter 2011.
The post offers a genuine opportunity to make a significant difference to some of the most challenging young people in Middlesbrough. Working at Tollesby is challenging but tremendously rewarding and we are looking to add to our complement of dedicated and enthusiastic staff by recruiting colleagues who focus on the positive and support the culture of change.
As a newly appointed Head I have been impressed by the hardwork and determination shown by the staff who are totally committed to providing the young people an educational experience that will prove to be a firm foundation for life. I have been enormously encouraged by the support I have received from the LA, governors, staff and the wider community.
It really is impossible to convey all the positives that surround Tollesby in this, my personal statement – a school is about the people in it and you need to visit us to appreciate how exciting and vibrant a place it is to work.
A visit to the school is the best way to learn more about the school and I am always happy to plan in time for an informal chat all visitors would be assured of a warm welcome.
