WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP

POWERING THE WORLD OF WORK

Welcome to Richter Associates

Richter Associates is a small Practice of Civil and Structural Engineers who undertake a wide variety of interesting work in the UK and abroad. They require an experienced Chartered Civil or Structural engineer to supplement their design team. The successful candidate must have experience in all the usual building materials including reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, masonry and timber. They must show a clear aptitude for solving challenging structural problems and have the ability to interface with clients on a regular basis. The role will involve both hands-on design and management of projects, with a possible view to a greater involvement in the running of the Company in the future.

Areas in which they work are detailed below.

Building design covering commercial, private hospitals, substantial residential and domestic buildings and includes new build, refurbishment, alterations, underpinning, basement construction, facade retention, demolition and more.

Civil engineering experience includes design and construction advice in connection with bridges, both road and rail, water industry structures, rail industry works, deep excavations and demolition. As well as design they are often engaged to carry out independent checking of the designs of others and to carry out independent reviews of proposed methods of working. Railway works include numerous temporary bridges; works associated with electrification; design of signal gantries; OLE foundations; level crossing designs; structural assessments; and independent checking of permanent works design and of contractor's temporary works proposals.

Bridge experience covers design and checking of both permanent and temporary works. They have experience of innovative forms of construction such as glued-segmental construction, span-by-span construction with overhead and with underslung gantries and construction by incremental launching. They are frequently involved in design of temporary works either for bridge construction or demolition or for bridge replacement. Temporary bridging is another area where they have extensive experience.

Richter Associates also have extensive experience of major temporary works including bridges, harbour construction, use of erection gantries, propping, lifting, retaining solutions and more.

They have been involved with a number of leading theatres in providing structural engineering services to back-of-house activities such as design, alteration, refurbishment of flying galleries, lifting equipment, support of lighting gantries, revolving and lifting stages.

They have also been involved in the refurbishment of a number of substantial properties, many of them listed, requiring innovative engineering solutions to allow buildings to be adopted for modern usage whilst retaining their historical features.
