Claire May - Headteacher

We have a friendly school community and are committed to high standards for our pupils. We strive to develop communication and independence skills. Staff create a stimulating, 'magic space' in which the pupils can learn and have fun.

Specialist School Status (September 2009) in Communication and Interaction has provided us with an exciting opportunity to expand our collaborative work and the building of a Wooden Lodge over the summer will facilitate joint community projects.

Enrichment activities are high profile at Pathfield School and staff are encouraged to be creative in their teaching to promote these opportunities.

We place emphasis on person centered learning and promote interest led learning opportunities.

Our school community is in the heart of the Pilton Association of schools and we benefit from working together to meet the unique needs of the young people on all sites, across all phases of education. We value partnership work with parents, Governors, therapists and all multi agency professionals.

We would welcome an inspiring Assistant Head who will add a new sensory dimension to our teaching. If you would like to be part of our team, share our positive ethos and strive for best practice for the special young people in North Devon then please arrange to visit the school and meet with the staff and pupils.
