Welcome to Moyles Court School

Thank you for your interest in Moyles Court School. I invite you to read on to find out more and view our website, www.moylescourt.co.uk

"The school is very successful in meeting its aims and aspirations within a clearly Christian ethos. It provides a caring community in which each pupil feels valued and receives individual encouragement."
ISI report, November 2009

Moyles Court is a school which pupils and staff enjoy coming to, small and friendly with a strong belief in traditional family values. Class sizes are small (average 15, maximum 22), departments well-resourced and holidays are considerably longer compared to the state sector. The school is set in 14 acres of stunning grounds in the heart of the New Forest, near Ringwood.

Like all independent schools, there is an expectation and requirement for teachers to contribute to after school and weekend activities. These are enjoyable and enriching for teachers, pupils and an important part of what we offer. Therefore, candidates not prepared to join in this aspect of school life with enthusiasm should not apply to posts advertised.

The International Primary Curriculum is being implemented in the Junior School and some vocational courses are offered in the Senior School. Children may start in the Nursery aged 3 and progress though to Year 11, taking 8-12 GCSEs. About a third of all pupils board. There is one class per year group and whilst all prospective pupils are assessed in literacy and numeracy as part of the admissions process, the school does not select pupils for entry by ability. Standardised tests show that the ability profile of the school is in line with the national average, although pupil attainment is well above the national average at all levels. The school offers learning support for children with mild learning difficulties. Standards of behaviour are high. In recent years all Year 11 leavers have progressed to centres of further education, in the independent and maintained sectors.

We run a comprehensive induction programme for NQTs, inspected and run through ISCtip. All new staff undergo a helpful induction process. Staff training is linked to an appraisal and performance review system. The school has successfully undergone inspection for Early Years, ISI Round 2 (whole school) and Ofsted (boarding) all during November 2009. Moyles Court is one of the three independent schools, which passed the Charity Commission Public Benefit Assessment in 2008/9.

If you are interested in being part of a vibrant learning community with supportive parents, lovely children, friendly staff set in a stunning location, then your application is welcome. Emailed submissions will be accepted. Pay and conditions are discussed at interview and are dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. In addition, all Moyles Court staff benefit from a significant concession on school fees for any of their children attending (further information available at interview).

Yours sincerely,
