Homes for Islington (HFI) is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up by Islington Council in April 2004. With responsibility for the management of 21,500 homes and 8,000 leasehold properties, HFI employ over 900 staff and are responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of Islington Council’s housing stock. HFI deliver housing services in a challenging inner city environment and are recognised to “have risen to the challenge” delivering year-on-year improvements. Having been awarded 3 Stars (Excellent Service) with Excellent Prospects for further improvement by the Audit Commission in 2008, this places HFI within the Top 10 highest performing ALMOs nationwide.

Homes for Islington is led by a Board of Directors, consisting of seven tenant and leasehold representatives and five independent members. The Board provides strategic leadership to the organisation. Supporting the Board are two sub-boards overseeing the delivery and monitoring performance of the housing management services.
