About us
EDM Group (“EDMâ€) is a nationwide provider of specialised information and document management services to over 500 business customers in sectors as varied as financial services, healthcare, government, retail, professional services, education, manufacturing and logistics. Headquartered in Bilston, EDM also has another site in Wolverhampton and facilities in Cheshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Essex and Hampshire.
Established in 2004 through the acquisition of 3 established market leaders, each with 30 year pedigrees, EDM has continued to expand through acquisition and organic growth, most notably through a strategic merger in October 2011 which doubled the company’s size.
What EDM Group Does
EDM’s core services enable its customers to eliminate the inherent problems of paper-based business processes. It does this by converting customers’ documents – ideally by receiving customers’ redirected inbound mail – to digital images, which are then made available to their staff via Web-based technology as digital images for processing. This approach streamlines processing, delivering benefits in terms of security, efficiency, cost reduction and improved compliance. The core service is complemented by leading edge technologies such as automated data capture and business process management as well as more traditional services such as high volume physical records management and archival.
Company Mission Statement:
‘To be recognised by our customers and the industry as being a leading innovative supplier of document management and business process outsourcing solutions.
To be recognised as a good and decent employer providing our staff with career development opportunities.’
Leadership:
The leader of the business is totally accessible at all times, he leads by example and encourages openness and honesty in the business. He encourages every member of the team not to lay blame, but to treat any set back as a learning experience for the entire business. His door is always open and he lives and breathes the company's values, inspiring those around him to do so well. EDM have a suggestion scheme and publish details at the quarterly Staff Forum meetings. EDM introduced a staff questionnaire in 2011 to get feedback on different aspects of the business.
Training & Development:
EDM Group has a long history of successfully developing its own staff in the organisation, ensuring that throughout the company’s recent years of growth, we have been able to promote our own staff to deliver the company’s future success. 73% of our current management team have been promoted from within the organisation.
Everyone at EDM is on first name terms, and we share a strong sense of pride and common purpose. Our staff love working for EDM and consider their work colleagues a major factor in the enjoyment of their job and feel a strong sense of family within teams.
While employees are expected to stand on their own two feet, they can also expect to be treated with respect by their colleagues, and to be part of a team where everyone is willing to roll up their sleeves and help out when support is required.
There is flexible working for new parents. Change of job required to suit demands of home life if feasible. Short term requests to go part time are permitted if requests are made in order to care for sick relatives.
Giving something back:
EDM staff vote for a charity of their own choice biannually and raise money throughout the year for this charity, through runs and walks organised locally by the charity, monthly dress down days, cake bake days and raffles.
