Kingston-Upon-Hull is a vibrant city situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire, surrounded by open plains, rugged hills and a stunning coastline.  Hull is a fast paced riverside city that is investing in its people and its community.

Citybuild in conjunction with Hull City Council are generating an investment programme of £1.5 Billion over the next 15 years.  They have already overseen the opening of St Stephens Square, St Stephen's is the biggest, most ambitious city centre redevelopment. The project will  transform Hull city centre. The 40-acre St Stephen’s development comprises:

  • A new, state of the art integrated transport interchange
  • A shopping and leisure complex, including around 30 shops and stores
  • New homes for the Hull Truck Theatre and the Albemarle Music Centre
  • A hotel and a residential quarter

Leisure

The most striking feature of St Stephen's shopping and leisure complex is its dramatic, glazed canopy roof structure, which, spans the length and breadth of the curved 'street', which is as wide as London's Oxford Street. The 'street' is open to the public 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Hull caters for all tastes when it comes to retail therapy!. Princes Quay Shopping Centre offering three floors of High Street Names, there are a choice of department stores and a host of designer shops and boutiques located in Savile Street. After a hard days shopping you are spoilt for choice with the pubs, café bars and restaurants.

Taking a walk around the Old Town you are quickly transported back in time surrounded by buildings representing centuries of culture and history.The UK, led by the city of Hull, will commemorate the abolition of the slave trade and celebrate the spirit of bravery, determination and the acceptance of others that helped make it happen. In 2007, it will be 200 years since this momentous occasion.

The Kingston Communication stadium comprises a state-of-the-art all-seater spectator arena with a capacity of 25,404. Which, for those with a love of sport, offers many national and international events. Including, this year, The Kingston Communications Stadium will be staging the second test of the three-match series Gillette Fusion Test Series between Great Britain and New Zealand.

If sport is not your thing then the KC stadium also offers excellent music events, having already seen such big name groups as REM, Bon Jovi and Brayan Adams.

University

As a university city with a growing student population there is a variety of nightlife, live bands and comedy in the town. Live performances at Hull City Hall, New Theatre and the internationally renowned Hull Truck Theatre.

East Yorkshire

East Yorkshire is steeped in heritage and surrounded by unspoilt countryside teeming with wildlife. It offers dramatic coastlines, award winning sandy beaches, picturesque villages and historic market towns.

The coastal resorts of Flamborough Head, Bridlington, Hornsea and Withernsea are popular family destinations as are the Market Towns of Beverley, Howden. Driffield, Pocklington and Market Weighton for more relaxed pace of life.
