Dear Colleague,

Thank you for your interest in teaching at the Aston University Engineering Academy (AUEA).
This is an exciting and trailblazing opportunity to work in the first, new build, major University sponsored University Technical College (UTC) in the country.

At Aston University Engineering Academy we passionately believe that the development of young people with the right skills and knowledge, for a career in engineering at all levels, is essential for the future economic prosperity of the UK. AUEA’s young people will have such skills and knowledge combined with a unique high aspiration and high expectations outlook formed through their relationships with AUEA staff, Aston University staff and students and the Academy’s industrial partners.

Aston University Engineering Academy offers young people aged 14-19 the opportunity to undertake a highly regarded, technically orientated course of study at a University Technical College. AUEA is equipped to the highest standards and offers clear progression routes into higher education and the world of work.

AUEA opened in September 2012 and each year recruits 120 year 10’s and 60 year 12’s from across the City of Birmingham. Within 3 years we will have 240 14-16 year olds and 360 16-18 year olds.

We are delivering outstanding education and opportunities for our young people that will inspire them to successful careers in engineering and science. We are therefore seeking outstanding professionals who have an energy and enthusiasm for learning and teaching, who are passionate about their subject and who are driven to make a real difference to the life chances of our young people.

If you wish to be involved in the challenge of creating and being part of an outstanding learning community then I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
