Barnes Roffe – a passage in time

Tracing back to their roots in 1899, Barnes Roffe has grown out of a commitment to providing their clients with a lasting partnership that is mutually beneficial.

Barnes Roffe may have started out small, but they are a family styled business which over the last 100 years has expanded their offices to accommodate more than 100 employees in 4 different sites – a substantial growth from our founder, William H. Barnes’ first solo office in 1899.

Opening his doors for the first time on 1st August 1899, William H. Barnes set the foundations for the firm which to this day is dedicated towards going the extra mile for their clients - a family like culture which has been passed on and diligently followed by unrelated professional individuals who collectively strive towards the same objective of doing more for their clients.

Yet Barnes Roffe would like to believe their ‘expansion’ has not only been internal. To date Barnes Roffe have helped hundreds of graduates across the UK, who have since gone on to build successful careers and businesses of their own.

And more than 100 years later, the firm is still going strong, offering clients and colleagues alike, a culture which always strives to do more.

Tax Planning
At Barnes Roffe, they consistently offer their clients the very best there is when it comes to ideas, solutions and resources, and our tax planning service is no exception. Barnes Roffe understand that you would like to keep as much as you earn and enjoy or pass on as much as you keep!

Barnes Roffe offer their clients a range of tax planning ideas ranging from basic (but often overlooked) remuneration planning to complex bespoke tax arrangements to minimise the incidence of tax. All of their partners and managers are equipped with latest tax knowledge to identify the areas which could potentially save you tax.

Amongst the Barnes Roffe partners are 4 specialist tax partners whose primary client responsibility is to ensure that their clients do not pay unnecessary tax. In addition, Barnes Roffe also has Wills, Trust and Inheritance Tax  specialists and Value Added Tax specialists - which means that they are able to offer their clients specialist tax advice to cover any or all taxes!

Income Tax Solutions

Income tax is exactly as it sounds ‘a tax on your income’. However not all income is taxable and even then you are only taxed when you earn above certain levels.

What is a taxable income?
Income tax includes: earnings from employment, earnings from self-employment, most pension schemes (including state, company and personal), interest generated on most savings accounts, income from shares, rental income and income paid to you from a trust. Essentially you can and will be taxed on almost everything you earn that is above your personal allowance.

Tax Return Solutions

Also known as ‘Self Assessment’, calculating your tax return is simpler than you can imagine. All you need to do is complete an online/paper tax return (detailing all your income and capital gains over the past tax year) and using these figures the HMRC is able to work out your tax bill.
